University Hills Optimist (UHO) Little Miss Kickball

Congratulations to the Red Hotz for winning the first-ever UHO Kickball Rookies tournament, as a part of the 2010 Pee-Wees and Rookies Spirit Day.

For the first time, we will post a number of pictures from Spirit Day here (on this website) as well as on Facebook. Usually, we put the majority of pictures taken at UHO Kickball events on Facebook exclusively.

We're working to sort through and touch up a collection of pictures taken over the weekend. We took over 500 pictures on Saturday. Therefore, give us a little bit of time to get through them.

A big shout-out has to be given to the Wildkatz. It was fitting that the Red Hotz and Wildkatz played for the championship, as they are the best teams in Rookies. Even more, the Wildkatz had to play every team in the bracket and they beat every team. Of course, they forced a second game with the Red Hotz for the championship. Congratulations to the Wildkatz for a very determined effort.

Congratulations to all the teams who played. It was a tough day, especially for those teams that had to play more than two games. Our young ones are not accustomed to playing for so long under such hot conditions. Many complained about hurting feet (cleats aren't the most comfortable of shoes to wear for a long period). The coaches and parents did an excellent job of keeping their girls well hydrated.
