There was sunshine on a cloudy day, at least for one team.
With a slippery field, overcast skies, and a light mist hinting at further rain, Red Hotz and Wildkatz came together for another clash in the Rookies division.
The Wildkatz entered the game at a perfect 5-0, having beaten every team within the division except one which they've yet to play. They came into the contest with the highest runs per game, scoring 11.8 runs per game. They also came in as the second best defensive team, giving up 5.0 runs a game.
Red Hotz came with a quiet 3-1 record, but boasted some significant statistics. They entered the game as the second best offensive team (11.4 runs per game), and the best defensive team in the division (4.4 runs per game). Their only loss came at the hands of the Wildkatz, who outlasted them in a previous meeting, 10-8.
Considering the nature of the Rookies division, those defensive numbers for both teams are pretty impressive.
So what happens when you take the two best teams in the division, with one seeking to maintain perfection and the other seeking to get even for an earlier loss?
You get a great game with excitement right to the very last out.

Note: We mistakenly listed previously the deceased as Rudy's father. That was a typographical error. It is Rudy's father-in-law that has passed. We apologize for the error and have corrected the information below.
During the UHO Little Miss Kickball season, the fields are full of life nearly everyday. We celebrate the highs and the lows of our girls' efforts to become better players, greater athletes, and outstanding people. Though it often feels like kickball becomes our life during the season, there is much more to life beyond the kickball field. And it's the intersection of life and its events beyond the kickball field that sometimes brings sadness to our UHO Kickball family.
As a league, we want to extend our thoughts and prayers to Coach Rudy Martinez and family on the recent passing of his father-in-law, Mr. Pete M. Lopez, Jr. As he and his family will commemorate the life that was his father-in-law's, we are postponing today's scheduled Juniors game of Jaguars vs. Lady Hurricanes (UHO game 80). We will soon announce the reschedule date for the game, as it has implications for the UHO Juniors first-half season title.
Recitation of Holy Rosary will be held Thursday, 7:00 p.m., at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, located at 6204 South First Street. Mass will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at San Jose Catholic Church, located at 2435 Oak Crest. This will conclude services for Mr. Lopez.

Up to this point in the season, the Juniors division has been the most competitive at UHO. The Kool Katz and Jaguars are tied for first, and are even in their head-to-head match-up, 1-1.

After struggling through injuries to players resulting in a few game postponements, Blue Thunder made its return to the fields at UHO to take on Eclipse in the first game of a Sunday double-header for Eclipse. However, Eclipse had no sympathy for Blue Thunder, as they were still smarting from a 19-7 loss to the NWA Spelephants from last Tuesday.

With the rain-out from last week, we've had the chance to update the schedules.
We have completed the schedules for the second half of the season for the Rookies, Juniors, and Seniors divisions.
Additionally, we have moved the following games from the 4/15 rainout and previous postponements:
The new master schedule reflects these changes.
We are still in the midst of rescheduling previously postponed Teenagers games, and will update you as soon as possible when dates are confirmed.
Coaches, please review the schedule for your team carefully and notify us of any errors.
